Earring Design Project - A Crisp Winter Collection

Project Goals and objectives:
Design earrings within the ‘crisp winter’ theme of this collection. The design should evoke images of someone walking through a pine forest on a sunny winter day.
Target Audience:
The target audience of this collection is women in their 20s and 30s. Young professionals who want to add an elegant yet playful touch to their wardrobes.

Project Moodboard

The goal for this design was to create a playful and elegant piece of jewelry suitable for everyday life, within the workspace and outside of it. As you can see on the moodboard below, I wanted to experiment with mixed materials and color for this collection. The moodboard for this project includes the following jewelry pieces:

- the Hermes Saturn Scarf 70 ring

- the Hey Harper Missy Ring

- the Chavelli Tube Squiggles earrings

- the Roxanne Assoulin enamel bracelet

- the Bea Bongiasca enamel and gold rings

- the Bottega Veneta intreccio chain enamelled silver ring

- the Saint Laurent resin rings

Color Palette

I chose this color palette because it aligns strongly with the theme of this collection, 'crisp winter'. Three main materials were picked for this design and correspond with the three colors accordingly: blue and green was used for the polymer part of the earring, the grey refers to the metal used, 925 silver, and the even lighter shade of grey represents the pearls that are part of this earring design. These materials and colors in turn correspond to specific ideas I wanted to communicate in the design: the green is a dark fresh color that strongly links back to nature and pine trees in winter when combined with the silver and pearl, and the blue in a similar way evokes images of a cold night sky.
